Day 7 of 21-Day Cleanse!

Ok. Here I am… entering Day 7 of my 21-day, January cleanse. So far, I’ve stayed on track, eaten clean proteins, vegetables, non-gluten, whole grains, nuts and seeds. I have had at least 8-8oz. glasses of water everyday–lost the dairy, sugar, coffee, and wine. Never a true red meat eater, I’ve enjoyed my usual and allowed, white-meat chicken and fish.

With great pleasure, I’ve even witnessed a scale drop of a necessary 3-holiday pounds. I’m proud of my progress thus far. This is one of the few cleanses, in the six or seven years I’ve claimed participation, that my focus has been laser pointed, leaving me singing a third-of-the-way success song.

An unexpected highlight of my day happens before sunrise: enjoying my green tea, morning wake-up beverage. An additional plunge of a peppermint or spearmint tea bag gives the brew a needed lift, brightening my taste buds in the process. My xylitol- sweetened mix, doused with a single serving of collagen powder twice a day, keeps my insides buzzing and warm.

I’m looking forward to checking in next week with similar tales of success. In the meantime, I intend to live each day, appreciating the gift I’m giving my body and ultimately myself. On to week #2!
