Around Day 15 on the cleanse, things get a little tedious… at least for me. This is the time I have to remind myself of how far I’ve come; how much lighter I feel; and how that plateau-stuck moment is now in my rearview. My friend (today :), the scale, is moving in the right direction. All’s good. Me? I’m just getting bored.
Although the repertoire of what I’m allowed to eat is vast, I seem to stick to much of the same daily provisions: brown rice, raw/steamed vegetables, chicken, fish, nuts, seeds, fruit. I seem to zero-in on the nuts and seeds and clean protein smoothies that hinder my exposure to extraneous foods. I suppose the repetitive menu limits my time in the kitchen, thinking about some of the interesting things I’m missing out on… and watching my kids eat, secretly yearning to have a taste of their overly delicious-looking snacks.
But I’m committed–committed to seeing this 7th annual cleanse through to Day 21. It’s nearly here, yet it seems so far away.
